The decision between burial and cremation is a very personal one. People’s religious beliefs may have a bearing on the final choice that is made. Another factor to consider is cost as cremation services are typically a lower cost then a burial service.
Our Cremation Services
J Lawrence & Sons have been offering cremation services in Southampton and the surrounding areas for almost a century. If this is the option you choose for your loved one’s funeral, then there are three crematoriums in the Southampton area that we work with.
You can choose between Southampton Crematorium on Bassett Green Road, Wessex Vale Crematorium in West End or Test Valley Crematorium in Romsey.
Cremated remains can be scattered in the each of the crematorium’s Garden of Rest or a family grave if there is one. If available, they can also be placed in a churchyard. Alternatively, you may wish to keep them at home or scatter them at your loved one’s favourite location.

We will retain your loved one’s ashes at our premises for as long as required while you speak to your family members and make your final decision. Should you decide to keep their ashes, we have a wide range of urns available for you to choose from.
