Direct Cremation
Direct Cremations, also known as Unattended Cremations, are cremations when there is no service within the Crematorium Chapel.
The popularity of Direct Cremations has increased over the past years giving families another option to say goodbye.
You may have seen television adverts offering Direct Cremation services.
Our Direct Cremation Services
Unlike other companies you may have seen on tv; we are different as we look after everything in Southampton, giving you the choice of which Crematorium you would like to use with the added assurance that your loved one will rest at our premises until the day of the Cremation.
We always use our Mercedes Hearse to convey the deceased to the Crematorium with the provision of 4 pall bearers to carry the coffin into the Chapel in a respectful and dignified manner.
Which Crematoria?
Southampton, Wessex Vale and Test Valley Crematorium all offer Direct Cremations.
If a Direct Cremation is arranged at Southampton Crematorium the time can be chosen by you (subject to availability).
If family members wish to, they are welcome to meet at the Crematorium (outside the Chapel) to spend some time to say their final goodbyes and witness the coffin being carried into the Crematorium Chapel.
The total cost for a Direct Cremation (with the Service being held at Southampton Crematorium) is £1,745.00, this includes all of our fees, the provision of our Mercedes Benz Hearse, Funeral Director and 4 bearers, collecting the deceased’s ashes (if required).
