UK crematoria follow guidance from the Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities (FBCA). In practice, this means the coffin and everything on it must be combustible. Metal, glass, PVC and other non-combustible materials are not allowed, and handles, nameplates and linings must be made from suitable materials. Each crematorium also sets maximum coffin sizes.
